It's pretty bad when a nurse forgets about you and the Doctor has to find someone else to do the job. If that wasn't bad enough along with the rudeness aside to have the Doctor come in and say well we don't know what's wrong so we are going to dismiss you. I heard the stories about the place being rude and having the IQ of a squirrel but now i'm a believer.
I do work there and I put my heart into this job but recently have been on the other end when my daughter had a stent removed from having kidney stones. Dr. Moshy is excellent and does a great job and the OR nurses were wonderful with my daughter. We tried to be self sufficient but they took great care of her! I also had her in the ER just two weeks prior and we were treated great and had to be transferred out but the experience was not a bad one by any means. I do work in healthcare so I know I have a different perspective but I feel fortunate to have a hospital so close to home. I know we do no have a lot of specialties and this makes it hard but I have worked all floors and floated to ER and I think I have worked with a good group of people every time!
Poor staff.... my grandmother was taken there last night. .. she was talked to like a dog from a nurse. This nurse got in her face and actually said to her we actually have sick patients here that need help. We removed grandma and took her to west va were she was admitted for an infection in her blood. .. way to go alleghany! I wouldn't take my dog there
I brought my grandmother here to see Dr. Wideman and had my 2 and 4 year old with me. While trying to keep them busy I stopped to get a cookie (for kids) and coffee (for myself) at the snack bar. The lady behind the snack bar was extremely friendly and after I paid for our snacks with my card she called me by my name. She was so sweet! After our snack the kids were getting antsy and the gentleman at check in came over with a couple activity books and crayons. The staff was so friendly. I am glad my grandmother is getting the best treatment around through lewis gale.
Leave you alone for hours, rude staff, doesn't tell you what they are treating you with. Went in for sore throat and vomiting and they only treated the vomiting. Had to come back 12 days later because wasn't better and had strep which also wasn't treated.
